After breakfast, we will take you to visit the famous elephant orphanage in Pinnawala.
It is a 25 acre coconut property that is a conservation camp for Sri Lankan elephants. Here you will witness baby elephants being fed by a feeding bottle as soon as you enter. This is a lovely site for tourists. This elephant orphanage also houses the crippled elephants that can’t take care of themselves. Special mahouts are trained to take care of these ‘gentle giants’ who are sometimes orphaned. This orphanage was started in 1975 and has birthed over 20 new-born calves in its premises. Some elephants even have had the opportunity to witness their own grand children being born in the past few decades.
Witness as these beautiful creatures are fed at 9.15am, 12.15pm & 5.00pm, or when they are bathed – twice a day at 10.00am and 02.00pm respectively. This is an experience that is sure to leave you mesmerized for a life time!
Thereafter, in the afternoon, we will escort you to Peradeniya. Here you will visit the most beautiful botanical garden in Sri Lanka. These gardens were initially built by Sri Lankan Kings as ‘pleasure’ gardens but were thereafter expanded by the British later on. It expands to over 147 acres and contains many beautiful varieties of trees, flowers and plants. Peradeniya is a town located just miles off Kandy. It is a flourishing national asset and could also be considered one of the wonders of Asia. The highlights of these gardens are definely the Orchid House & the giant javan fig tree.
After this, you will return to Kandy and settle in for the night at the hotel in Kandy.
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya via train. Enjoy the scenic views of the hillside as the train snakes through lush green valleys and tea estates. The car will follow you up to Nanu Oya, which is the last station before Nuwara Eliya.
After you get off board the train, you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya via car.
The misty climate and lush green bushes of this city will remind you of a British Colonial retreat. This city is also known as ‘Little England’ and has the atmosphere of an English countryside. It still has the famous English colonial bungalows, hedgerows and one of the best 18 hole golf courses in the world. Take a hike through these green bushes and red brick walls and find some breathtaking views that are bound to leave you mesmerized. You could even hop onto a steam train and enjoy the countryside by gliding through green valleys of the hill country pierced by beautiful waterfalls and tea pluckers with their bright-coloured saris. Or rent a bike and take a relaxing bike ride along the banks of the famous Gregory Lake.
After exploring the city of Nuwara Eliya, you will proceed to a hotel where you will settle for the night.
Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains / Nuwara Eliya

- Trekking to the Horton Plains
After breakfast, you will proceed to for some light trekking to the Horton Plains.
Horton Plains is a UNESCO World Heritage Site & Eco-tourism hideout in the heart of the island, surrounded with unending stretches of green pastures, marking one of the healthiest wet montages of evergreen forests in Sri Lanka. The plains are a beautiful sight with misty grasslands and ice-cold rivulets. You can proceed to “World’s End” that is considered to have the finest view point in Sri Lanka and is a 400 ft drop towards the southern end. Horton Plains has an altitude of over 7000 ft and the plateau sweeps to a robust 3169 hectares, sheltering various varieties of plants and animals. Witness the beautiful Bakers Falls which is also one of the monumental sights in this area. The forests around this area are home to many types of birds & wildlife such as sambar deer, wild boars, and otters, and if you are lucky you could even catch a glimpse of the ‘spotted ghost that haunts the plains’ – The Sri Lankan Leopard!
After this mini expedition, you will return to Nuwara Eliya for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Nuwara Eliya / Ella

On day 5, you will be taken to visit a tea factory in Nuwara Eliya. Observe the beautiful green hills and lush valleys of this enchanting city. In the tea factory, you will be able to observe how tea is processed and graded for both local and foreign markets. Take in the wonderful aromas of fresh tea being prepared while you indulge in a hot cup of pure Ceylon tea while you are here.
Ella is surrounded with beautiful rocks and mountains, including the towering Ella Rock. So if you are into hiking and mountaineering, you can enjoy some of the most spectacular views of Sri Lanka. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and cool climate around you.
Visit Ravana Waterfall
The Ravana Ella or the Ravana falls is one of the widest falls in Sri Lanka and is one of the most popular attractions. It is connected to the Hindu epic, Ramayana, a historic tale that covers over India and Sri Lanka. The falls is said to have been named after the famous king, King Ravana. The story goes that King Ravana kidnapped Princess Sita from India and hid her in the caves behind the waterfall. It is also said the Sita bathed in a pool of water that was collected with the water that fell from the fall. The caves behind the fall are known as the Ravana Ella Caves.
You will stay on at a hotel in Ella for the night.
Ella / Colombo

After breakfast, you will proceed to Colombo for some last minute shopping, to spend your last night in Sri Lanka. This buzzing city used to be the country’s capital city, it now one of the cleanest cities in Sri Lanka. Check out the crystal white Race Course – that used to be the horse racing hub in 1893 but is now furnished with the latest clothes boutiques, restaurants and tea shops. You could even travel to Pettah and witness the famous ‘floating market’ for a new kind of shopping experience, or the famous Colombo Port City which is an offshore city featuring parks, commercial complexes and even a F1 track. If you head towards Bauddhaloka Mawatha, you would come across the “Arcade”. This building features the best designer branded shopping boutiques, souvenir shops, restaurants and coffee shops. One of its unique aspects is the ‘walk-over fish tank’ that has made this spot one of the trendiest and coolest hangout spots in Colombo.
Indulge ina chilled beer at the Dutch Hospital that overlooks fancy windows showcasing the best of fashion, jewelry & handicraft brands. The Gangarama temple is also another famous tourist attraction that you could visit. Do not miss out on Colombo’s night life thatis also quite jazzed up by many night clubs & casinos.
